S3NSEing Successful Resolutions

Thank God, this year has ended. The resolutions, we will make and more importantly keep, may make 2021 a year to remember. Hopefully, as much as 2020, was a year to forget.

Our tendency is to set huge goals and difficult challenges. We begin inspired and motivated, yet in a short time crash, burn out or become bored. Surely, there must be a better way to succeed.

“A little bit of something is better than a whole lot of nothing.”

I don’t know who said this, but Moshe Feldenkrais would have agreed with it. He often spoke of how staying within limits leads to continuous progress. We can use this concept to start or deepen our Feldenkrais practices. A resolution of waking up early every morning and doing a lesson, may be too ambitious . Especially, if one has not seen sunrise since the start of Co-Vid.

Instead, focus on an easy first step, visit the S3NSE website: https://www.s3nse.org

It is an informative resource for both beginning and experienced students. We would love to hear about your interest in the method and how we could help you.

S3NSE offers free online Zoom classes. Like meditation, it is best to build a Feldenkrais practice slowly. You may be more successful just doing a part of a class (like starting with just 5-10 minutes of meditation). There are plenty of rests during lessons, feel free to stop at any time. Do not wait until you are sore, tired or even bored to end your lesson. The less you do, the more quickly you will progress. In a short time, you will look forward and find pleasure in every class. Find S3NSE’S Class Schedule at: https://www.s3nse.org/group-classes

I, along with the rest of the S3NSE practitioners, have been taking advantage of the lockdowns with Zoom sessions with our Feldenkrais mentors. Even after my 15 years of Feldenkrais, Mia Segal has been guiding me to further refine my awareness and abilities. These experiences have been the silver lining on the co-vid cloud.

All S3NSE students could also benefit from mentoring. Beginners will grasp Feldenkrais fundamentals more quickly, become more self aware and notice great improvements. More intermediate and advanced students will discover missing pieces of their Feldenkrais puzzle and experience lessons at a higher level. The sessons are created around your goals, needs and wants. S3NSE has a special offer of 4 Zoom Lessons for $200: https://www.s3nse.org/individual-sessions

Whatever your resolutions may be, take that first easy step and then gradually build on it. You will be amazed how all those little bit of something add up to a happier

and healthier year.
