“Eventually everything connects- people, ideas, objects. The quality of the connection is the key to quality per se.”
~Charles Eames
To get anywhere in life, you have to make connections. Simple trips to the store require connecting to transportation, roads and cashiers. More serious endeavors, such as visiting Paris, require even more complex connections. What is networking but socially or professionally connecting with other people. The quality of our internal self connection will determine how we will connect to the world.
Connection requires movement. It may be a baby reaching for a toy, the click of the mouse or the first step out the door. Moving is an essential neuromuscular process. If we improve this process, we improve our ability to move through life.
The neuromuscular system orchestrates movement through a hierarchical control system, starting with the brain’s intention, relayed through motor neurons and culminating in the precise contraction and relaxation of muscle fibers. Many connections need to occur to turn a thought into a reality. Improving these connections will result in more potent actions.
The Feldenkrais Method® uses movement to connect our internal neuromuscular process to our outer environment. The awareness of movement enables thoughts, sensations and feelings to connect with physical actions. We learn how to integrate different parts of ourselves into a unified whole.
During Feldenkrais lessons, new movements and patterns are learned by the student. This learning forms new connections between the neurons in the brain and the muscular system in the body. This neuroplasticity creates new abilities and refines old ones.
The best way to connect outwardly is upgrading your internal connections. Make the S3NSE connection here at www.s3nse.org and connect to your - quality life per se.
