“What I’m after isn’t flexible bodies but flexible brains.”
~Moshe Feldenkrais
It is easy to think of the Feldenkrais Method® as a type of movement therapy. However, as Feldenkrais’s quote suggests, this method is more than just moving better. What exactly is a flexible brain? How does it work? How will the Feldenkrais Method make your brain more flexible?
When the brain is inflexible, you are limited to automatic reactions. Habitual responses are time and energy efficient, but there may be times when they cause problems. This is when a flexible brain is useful. A good example is getting out of a chair. This skeleton demo explains the importance of a flexible brain that can create choices.
You may explore many choices with S3NSE. We have online, in-person movement classes, workshops, and advanced training for practitioners: www.s3nse.org.
